From Sterling's press release--

"On the first day of Christmas my parents gave to me . . . a holiday book about my very own state!

Merry Christmas from the Bluegrass State! Come along on a fun ride through Kentucky as Marybeth introduces her cousin Martin to all her favorite places, activities, and foods. While they travel from Louisville to Lexington to Paducah, Marybeth gives Martin some really cool gifts—like 4 lucky horseshoes when they visit a horse farm and 10 lumps of black gold from the Coal Mining Museum in Benham.

This joyful entry in 'The Twelve Days of Christmas in America' series features terrific art and lively text by a native Kentuckian that perfectly captures the state’s spirit."

Special Honor

The Kentucky Humanities Council selected The Twelve Days of Christmas in Kentucky to represent Kentucky in the Pavilion of States at the 2017 National Book Festival in Washington, DC. Since each state is allowed to have only one book there, this was a significant honor.
