Addition to the Adult Writers' List
• Balloons Literary Journal
is a new-this-year, online journal. Their homepage describes BLJ as "a children & young adults' literary magazine -
where creativity, imagination, weirdness, adventures, & poetry play." It's published twice a year.
Their submission guidelines (here) say they are looking for poetry, fiction, artwork, photography,...that would interest
school-age readers from around 12 years and up. This is a non-paying market. Sample issues can be accessed online.
Additions to the Young Writers' List
• Kid Writers Magazine is a new bi-monthly publication
of kids' writing. In addition, to help young authors improve their writing, it includes writing tips, inspiration,
writing prompts, and interviews with top authors. This is both a print magazine and an e-magazine.
Submission guidelines are here. This is a paying market
if your work is accepted for the magazine. If it's not accepted for the magazine, they will still consider it for
publication on their website.
• Balloons Literary Journal welcomes work from
young writers. See details above.
