Addition to the List

Suddenly Lost in Words is a new publication for young adults. When I asked if they were an ezine, this is the response I received, "We are technically not an ezine. However, it is our intention to feature selected YA short stories on our website as well as publish in the eBook market. We will be publishing as often as we have great groups of stories to share. Hopefully, often!"

Suddenly Lost in Words pays 5 cents/word. Submissions are made through their online submissions page. Check here for details.

Thank you, Talia Haven, for sharing this news on Verla Kay's forum.

Clarification on the April 2016 "Duck, Duck, Goose" theme for Hopscotch--this is about ducks and geese, not about children's games.

WEEKLY READER Discontinued

Weekly Reader, which had been published for more than 80 years, was purchased by Scholastic in February of this year. Scholastic is planning to combine Weekly Reader with Scholastic News under the title Scholastic News Weekly Reader. It will be published weekly in print during the school year. For additional information see Education Week's article.
